Crisis or disaster can strike any organisation. Critical incidents range from a workplace accident, injury, death from illness or suicide of a colleague or client, redundancy, company closure, through to natural or human-made disasters. Interpersonal conflicts with a colleague or client can result in high levels of individual or team distress and impact health, well-being and productivity.
People respond to stress and trauma in different ways. Most people, in time, will regain equilibrium, process the event, grieve, and learn to live or adapt to a new reality or new normal. Some people may in time develop personal and professional growth out of difficult situations, perhaps leading to new opportunities. This is more likely where people have good supports at work and personally.
Resilience is not luck, a personal trait or result of willpower. It can be enhanced by personal, social and professional supports. Not everybody is fortunate to receive such support. Other people experience greater difficulty and challenges to recovery. A normal response to an abnormal situation is commonly manifested as anxiety, depression, sleeping, difficulties around eating, increased use of alcohol or other drugs, loss of libido or post-traumatic stress.
In the event of a crisis, individuals and teams may benefit from consultation with a trauma specialist. Naomi has over three decades experience working with individuals and groups providing confidential guidance and support during and post challenging events. She has a wealth of experience working with people across socioeconomic groups, faiths, cultures and sexual orientation.

Delphi Training and Consulting acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples as the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the lands and waters which we share. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and future. We acknowledge and recognise it is the oldest living culture in the world and that sovereignty has never been ceded. It always was and always will be Aboriginal land.
Delphi is an inclusive and safe organisation. We respect, celebrate and support diversity, the inclusion of children, young people and adults from LGBTQIA+ communities, people with disabilities, people from CALD backgrounds and people with diverse religious beliefs or affiliations.
