Dr Ellert Nijenhuis

Ellert Nijenhuis, PhD, is a psychologist and psychotherapist. He has diagnosed, treated and scientifically studied severely traumatized patients for over 40 years. Since 2014, he specifically concentrates on sharing his experience and knowledge regarding the psychology, psychobiology, and treatment of chronic traumatization and dissociation.

For his book Somatoform Dissociation: Phenomena, Measurement, and Theoretical Issues, he received his Ph.D. with the highest honours at the Medical Department of the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. His most recent books are The Trinity of Trauma: Ignorance, Fragility, and Control, Volume I and II, and the third volume, Enactive Trauma Therapy
